Dr. Billingsley completed his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at McGill University in Montreal before going on to study medicine at The Queen’s University School of Medicine at Kingston. He undertook postgraduate medicine studies in internal medicine and cardiology at the University of Toronto followed by an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. He pursued further fellowship training in interventional cardiology at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, Australia.
Dr. Billingsley worked as a staff interventional cardiologist in Auckland, New Zealand with appointments at Middlemore and Auckland City Hospitals, before returning to Canada to join the developing Interventional Cardiology program in Thunder Bay, Ontario – a remote standalone angioplasty program and was part of the cardiovascular programs growth later serving as director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Interventional Cardiology.
In 2016 he joined the Cardiology group in Kelowna as an Interventional Cardiologist. He maintains special interests in complex cardiac interventions including chronic total occlusions, valvular heart disease and less-invasive valvular heart disease interventions.
